PETE PEPE on the birth of 3777

Originally conceived in 2004 – 3777 was intended to be an underground movement.

A secret “Fight Club”-esq group that was about having a rebelistic outlook on life and the world. It was intended as a big “fuck you” to rules and authority figures.

Fast forward 2023 – as time has seemed to fly by at warp speed – I was reunited with my co-founding brothers and through various deep conversations reminded that I myself, and the rest of us, are indeed mortal. And everday that passess I take another step forward towards death. With that recalibrated mindset, 3triple7 has taken on a whole new meaning for me as I’ve grown as an individual – having been sculpted and formed by various poinient moments in my life. I now see 3777 as a beacon, a symbol that represnts a positive outloook on life and a constant reminder for me to push myself everyday to live life to the fullest with no regrets.

“The Courier”: by Pete Pepe – A Trailblazer

“The Courier,” created by Pete Pepe and produced by CBS, was a groundbreaking project that exemplified the potential of multiplatform storytelling. Released in the early 2010s, “The Courier” was not confined to a single medium but spanned television episodes, interactive web content, social media campaigns, and even mobile applications. This innovative approach allowed viewers to delve deeper into the story, uncovering new layers and perspectives that would have been impossible to convey through a single platform.

The narrative of “The Courier” followed a complex and engaging storyline involving espionage, mystery, and global intrigue. Each platform offered unique content that enriched the main storyline. For instance, while the TV episodes provided the core narrative, the interactive web content offered background information and character backstories. Social media campaigns engaged viewers in real-time discussions and theories, while mobile applications provided interactive experiences and exclusive content.

The success of “The Courier” as the first major IP produced by CBS for a multiplatform format was a pivotal moment in the evolution of storytelling. It demonstrated the potential of extending narratives across various platforms to create a more engaging and immersive experience for audiences.

Today, this storytelling method has become a staple in the industry, with numerous films and TV shows adopting multiplatform strategies to enhance audience engagement. As technology continues to advance and consumer behavior evolves, multiplatform storytelling will undoubtedly remain a cornerstone of modern entertainment, inspiring creators to push the boundaries of how stories are told and experienced.
